Ubisoft today announced Rainbow Six Mobile, a new version of the Rainbow Six Siege multiplayer shooter developed specifically for smartphones. Production lasted three years, and today the French studio finally unveiled the game, which will allow all fans to continue playing anywhere, anytime, with adrenaline-pumping games on the small screen.
Rainbow Six Mobile is a competitive tactical shooter for two teams of 5: attackers and defenders. While the core gameplay, characters, and maps are very similar to Siege’s, Ubisoft revealed that they had rebuilt everything from scratch, with usability on mobile devices in mind. The control system is completely new, developed specifically for smartphones, and the user interface has been revised and some gameplay mechanics.
The first trailer visible below confirms the presence of environmental destructibility, and the graphic quality is as impressive as ever. Ubisoft has stated that it does not intend to stop or slow down support for Rainbow Six Siege and asks fans to think of this project as something in its own right.
Rainbow Six Mobile does not yet have a release date, but Ubisoft has already opened the registrations for the first tests on its official website. All players with an iOS and Android device can sign up to try out the title early.
