Bethesda and Id Software have announced the release of the free upgrade of Quake Remastered for next-gen consoles, available right now for all owners of the game. The upgrade introduces 4K resolution and fixed 120fps frame rate on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S, plus support for Xbox Play Anywhere on Microsoft consoles and adaptive triggers on Sony’s PS5.
The Xbox Series X / S version will be downloaded automatically from Microsoft consoles thanks to the Smart Delivery system, while users with PS5 will have to perform the usual step, accessing the product sheet on the PS Store and downloading the new version. The update only affects next-gen consoles, so PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch will continue to run with the old settings. On PC, the limitations depend on the strength of the hardware.
Quake Remastered is available at a budget price of € 9.99 on all platforms. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play for free with no restrictions.
