Waiting for a confirmation or a denial about the existence of the PS5 Pro, a new version of Sony’s next-gen console potentially coming out in 2024, Tom Henderson reveals the existence of a new professional Controller that should represent the direct evolution of the DualSense. In addition to including all the features of the PS5 joypad, the new “PS5 Pro Controller” will allow users to take their gameplay to the next level thanks to a series of major additions.
Tom Henderson reveals that Sony has been working on a “new professional Controller” compatible only with PS5, which could be presented within a few weeks. The codename of the Controller is “Hunt,” but the definitive one will be “PS5 Pro Controller” and not “DualSense Pro,” as some speculated. This new hardware will be similar to DualSense, but will also include features and add-ons, including removable analog sticks, trigger stops, and classic rear buttons.
Henderson claims to have received some images of the prototype and confirms with absolute certainty the existence of this hardware. The prototype in question also appears to have specific grips to help hold the Controller, which appear to be removable. The details at the moment stop there, but the insider stated that Sony is expected to introduce new hardware by the end of June, so there is a good chance the PS5 Pro Controller will be shown before the end of the month.
