Sony will soon block PlayStation Store on PS3, PS Vita, and PSP consoles – says The Gamer, citing a source verified by the website.
The digital store will allegedly close on July 2 for PS3 and PSP and on August 27 for PS Vita. The guide argues that it will not be possible to buy digital games or DLC for these consoles.
Sony is rumored to officially announce the news in late March to give players time to make their final deals.
If the information is confirmed, the prices of physical editions of PS3, PS Vita, and PSP games will increase significantly after the PlayStation Store is blocked. Online auctions will probably feature many boxed editions of the biggest hits available only on the Japanese manufacturer’s older consoles.
