Frogwares, the Ukrainian software house of Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One and The Sinking City, has announced its new video game in development. Project Palianytsia, the working name chosen for the new IP, is now in production despite the difficult situation the Ukrainian developers find themselves in and will be officially presented this summer with a first trailer. Pending the announcement, the studio shared the first details about the experience and some images.
“Today, we announce our new game, Project Palianytsia, a mystery-filled horror experience set in a Victorian era,” the studio said in a new press release. “Palianytsiait wasn’t the next game in our pipeline, but we had to reevaluate everything with the current situation. It is a little less massive project than our last open worlds, but we are sure to be able to publish it in the circumstances in which we find ourselves. […] As an independent studio, we always have to manage resources and developers better. Still, war does not allow us to communicate and establish processes as we would like […], so we have chosen a game that developers can work on with more autonomy. The project is smaller than others, but it will still be very ambitious, of high quality, with a great story and many mysteries “.
Project Palianytsia is a working name chosen as a tribute to Ukraine, as Palianytsia is a typical local dish. The game’s actual title will be revealed this summer, along with the release window and other details. Below you can take a look at the first official images.
