Project Athia’s official website explains that the game will also be released on a PC via the icon at the bottom of the site, confirming that the game isn’t entirely exclusive to the PlayStation 5 other than the console.

PlayStation Future of gaming Livestream has finally begun, and developers and publishers have formalized lots of announcements from the game industry. And Square-Enix is one of them.

Although they have left Luminous Engine, to work on some of the newest games including Final Fantasy VII Remake, the Japanese developer and publisher still seem to have a new project underway for PS5 using the engine which is also used to work on Final Fantasy XV.

Through PlayStation live stream, Square-Enix and Luminous Studio announced an exclusive PlayStation 5 game called Project Athia. In the teaser gameplay, the game looks to be starring the female lead with her magic abilities. The colour tone and the action might not be familiar to you because it uses the same engine as the Final Fantasy XV engine.

As of this writing, Square-Enix is still reluctant to explain what Project Athia is like. The trailer description also only describes the game as an action story adventure game which is one of the philosophies of Luminous Studio with a fresh gameplay.

But if you see the gameplay is limited to action and platforming, chances are this game will be a JRPG game with a feel that is very similar to Final Fantasy XV.

Project Athia is currently being worked on and will be released exclusively for PlayStation 5.
