More than a year has passed since the announcement of the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, the iconic arcade game from Ubisoft, released in 2003. Although the refreshed version of this story was to hit the market later this year, a few months ago, the developers announced that work on the game would require more time, after which there was media silence.
Now, however, a short statement has finally been published on Twitter after a long break. Still, unfortunately, there is no good news in it: it has only been confirmed that the work on the game is still in progress, and given that no specific release date has yet been given, we should not expect it in the coming months – the second half of next year is more likely.
The original Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was a reboot of a cult brand launched in the early 1990s – the game, released in 2003, gained popularity mainly due to the fairy-tale atmosphere and interesting mechanics of manipulating time, which allowed it to slow down and reverse time. It was useful both during fights with enemies as well as while exploring levels.
