Sony has organized a small surprise event dedicated to indie video games, presenting seven titles coming out on PS4 and PS5 soon. The titles were shown every fifteen minutes on Thursday, July 7, with trailers, insights and release dates. Some games like The Tomorrow Children: Phoenix Edition are PlayStation exclusives, while others like Sea of Stars and Cult of the Lamb will also be released on other platforms. Let’s find them all.
Sea of Stars
Sea of Stars is a turn-based RPG with pixel-art graphics inspired by the great classics of the 90s. The story follows the adventures of two boys who must combine the powers of the sun and the moon to be able to launch the “magic of the eclipse,” the only force capable of repelling the forces of evil invoked by an evil alchemist known as “The Fleshmancer. ” The adventure will be divided into narrative arcs that will lead the two protagonists to interact (and collaborate) with other characters and freely explore a world rich and full of secrets and face many types of creatures. The release is scheduled for the generic 2023 on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC.
SCHiM is a puzzle game that puts players in the shoes of a schim, a shadow creature, searching for its owner. The adventure will consist of several missions that will lead users to explore places inspired by the classic Dutch locations, where it will be possible to meet other schims and characters to help. SCHiM will be released on a date to be announced on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
Cult of the Lamb
In Cult of the Lamb, produced by Massive Monster and Devolver Digital, players take on the role of the Lamb, the lovable sect leader and bearer of ominous tales, saved from death to serve “The One Who Waits,” the one who waits. Players will embark on crusades through randomly generated galleries filled with hordes of monsters and false prophets to find new followers and resources to bring homage to their sect. This ambitious indie roguelike will be available from August 11 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, Switch and PC.
Signalis is a survival horror video game set in a sci-fi world with retro technology and includes elements of cosmic and psychological horror. Players will take on the role of Elster, a Replika technique, who wakes up from a state of stasis to find that his spaceship has made a crash landing and that the pilot Ariane Yeong has disappeared. Shortly after, Elster finds something hidden beneath the planet’s icy surface that shouldn’t be there and receives a mysterious radio signal that changes the cards. Signalis will be available from October 27 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, Switch and PC.
The Tomorrow Children: Phoenix Edition
The Tomorrow Children: Phoenix Edition is set in an alternate future, following a failed experiment to bring the minds of all humanity together. The return of civilization is now in the hands of the projection clones, life forms capable of venturing deep into the Void in search of surviving humans. The game was first released in 2016 and will return exclusively to PS4 and PS5 on September 6, 2022, with new islands (more than 40 in total), additional mechanics, secrets and other surprises.
Cursed to Golf
In Cursed to Golf, he will put players in the shoes of a golf champion who tragically died shortly before winning a tournament. Instead of ending up in heaven (or hell), the champion will be sent to the Purgatory of Golf, where he will be called upon to win an impossible round of golf on an ever-changing 18-hole course so that he can come back to life. Since this is a roguelike video game, he will start all over again after every failure. Cursed to Golf will be available from August 18 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, Switch and PC.
Inscryption is a roguelike card video game focused on deck building, in which the player must battle a series of opponents and solve escape-room-style puzzles to come to terms with a dark story full of twists. Already available on PC, Inscryption will arrive on PS4 and PS5 in September with new exclusive features.
