Nintendo today unveiled the game Pac-Man 99. It is a production inspired by the battle royale genre and reminiscent of the rules known from Super Mario Bros. 35. or Tetris 99.
The game is played by – as the title suggests – almost a hundred players. They all play simultaneously, although each on their own board. The participant who remains the only one in the game wins.
Players can influence each other’s gameplay. For example – defeated ghosts from our board make Jammer Pac-Many appear on the map of another participant, which will slow down the movement of whoever touches them.
The key to success is to “eat” a row of little sprites and then collect an upgrade that allows you to attack larger ghosts. This allows you to consume many ghosts at once and thus to cover your opponents on their boards with obstacles.
The basis of the game is based on the classic rules of Pac-Man. We move through a small maze, avoiding enemies and eating tiny balls. Various bonuses diversify the game – for example, the possibility of increasing our creature’s speed or targeting specific opponents.
Pac-Man 99 is a game available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers (the annual cost is about PLN 80). The title will be available from tomorrow.
