In the last few days, official Overwatch 2 Concept Art has started circulating online, in which you can take a preview look at the new game menu and some changes made to the user interface. Among these images, there is also one that confirms the Battle Pass’s presence and the possible removal of the loot box, which has long been associated with gambling.
The Concept Art is made at Blizzard’s request, so it’s sure that at some point in development, the team launched the idea of inserting a Battle Pass and removing the loot boxes. Unfortunately, we do not know if this change has been completed. Still, given the success of the Battle Pass model in video games such as Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty: Warzone, it is certainly possible that this is the case.
Looking at the first of the attached images, you will notice the words “Battle Pass” under the online store, proving that Blizzard has at least considered the possibility of removing the loot boxes. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long to receive a confirmation since new official game images could arrive as early as the end of April during the first Closed Beta.
