Great news for all RPG and JRPG fans because Geoff Keighley today unveiled the names of two other video games featured on the evening of June 9 during the opening event of the Summer Game Fest. In addition to the eight video games revealed in the last few hours, including The Callisto Protocol and Gotham Knights, there will also be two highly anticipated Japanese RPGs: Honkai: Star Rail One Piece Odyssey.
Honkai: Star Rail is miHoYo’s new turn-based open-world video game, the second flagship game released alongside Zenless Zone Zero. Thanks to the free-to-play Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin Impact, the Chinese giant has achieved worldwide success. They are now preparing to show one of its new products packaged for the general public on one of the most important Western stages, that of the Summer Game Fest. We only know Honkai: Star Rail will be released on PC, Android, and iOS soon, and considering that two Closed Betas have already been published, the time may be ripe for a trailer with an official release date.
Last March, one Piece Odyssey was announced by Bandai Namco and is in the pipeline on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and PC. As Eiichiro Oda’s manga slowly approaches the final saga, the Japanese studio has unveiled a new JRPG with an unreleased storyline, turn-based combat, and free exploration of the open world. Also, in this case, the information is scarce, but knowing that the game will be released in 2022, we can anticipate the presence of a gameplay trailer with a release date.
