Epic Games partnered with NVIDIA to release a DLSS plug-in that allows users to implement a deep learning neural network that harnesses NVIDIA RTX Tensor Cores’ power to boost frame rates and create crisp frames that approximate or exceed native rendering.
As of today, Unreal Engine 4 developers can access DLSS as a plugin for Unreal Engine 4.26. Additionally, NVIDIA Reflex is now available as a feature in Unreal Engine 4.26 major release.
Uncompromising quality with higher performance: NVIDIA DLSS technology uses advanced AI rendering to produce an image comparable to native resolution, while legally rendering only a fraction of the pixels.
Customizable options: DLSS allows you to select several image quality modes (from “Quality” to “Ultra Performance”). Users can tweak the balance of quality and performance by controlling the internal rendering resolution of the game. Performance Mode delivers up to 4x Super Resolution (ie 1080p -> 4K), while the new Ultra Performance Mode delivers up to 9x AI Super Resolution (1440p -> 8K).
