Five months after the Origins update, No Man’s Sky continues to expand with new free content. The latest addition is the “Frontiers” expansion, included in Update 3.6, now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and PC, a colossal DLC with which the highly anticipated settlements have been introduced.
No Man’s Sky: Frontiers is now downloadable on all platforms, with an update weighing about 6 GB. Once the download is complete, it will be sufficient to start the game to access the new content, the strong point of which are the alien colonies manageable by the players.
The settlements can be founded on all the planets and modified at will by the users, who can arbitrarily decide their size and the layout of the dwellings. It is also possible to build structures from scratch, choosing the size, layout of walls, doors, windows, etc.
Once their colony is established, players will be able to commission festivals, welcome alien visitors, resolve citizen disputes, customize interiors, and make important decisions that will change the city’s productivity, citizen happiness, and the number of inhabitants, just like in a management video game. The colony will also be defended from the attacks of the sentries, who will periodically try to raze it to the ground.
No Man’s Sky: Frontiers also introduces revamped visual effects, improved environmental destruction, new save slots, the ability to ride monsters and get new pets, and more. You can take a look at all the information on the official website of the game.
