Three weeks after the NSO rewards update, Nintendo has released another major update for the Switch, with a highly anticipated quality of life improvement that fans have been requesting for five years now. With the 14.0.0 firmware update available today, it is finally possible to create folders and divide your games into various groups.
Simply swipe right from the console’s power-up screen to use the new feature until you get to the section with all the games. After selecting the software list, press the “L” key to access the brand new “Groups” section, and from there, just follow the instructions on the screen to create your customized folders. It is possible to create up to one hundred folders with two hundred video games each and rename them to your liking.
Nintendo confirms that the games will be present in multiple folders so that you can put your Mario Kart 8 in a hypothetical “Family Games” folder and another “Racing Games” folder. The only drawback of this interesting function is that, unfortunately, to use the folders, it is still necessary to go back to the “Groups” section every time since the collections are not transferable to the home. Hence, the start time of the games remains almost the same.
