Dead by Daylight developer Behavior Interactive shared an update that reveals what changes are planned for the game in an upcoming major update.
According to a studio statement, we can expect updates to the game’s six perks (Diversion, Fixated, Hex: Undying, Iron Maiden, Open Handed, and Second Wind), as well as some general changes to the HUD and UI.
After four years and a teaser last year, the developer notes that she thinks it is the right time to apply a major overhaul to the game, which will see widespread changes for both Survivors and Killers.
The game’s UI’s main changes are designed to make everything a little cleaner and easier to read. A screenshot is shown in the update (shown in the video) describes what a player’s screen should look like after the update is applied.
The newly revamped HUD will better indicate what perks, items, and add-ons you acquired in the session while also showing the number of generators remaining to repair and other Survivors’ condition.
If you’re a streamer or want more control over the UI, don’t worry: a scaling option will be added to the game that allows you to customize where the HUD is about everything else on the screen.
We will also see a change in the way matchmaking works in the game, and when developers are happy with the way matchmaking works, she plans to introduce “ranking rewards.”
“Since the ratings will no longer be used for matchmaking, they will be reused to reward dedicated players. Each month, everyone will receive blood points based on the highest rating they have achieved and then reset to the 20 rating ”.
In addition to all this, we will also see a graphic redesign of Gideon Meat Plant and Crotus Prenn Asylum. These new visuals appear in the video below.
