The trailer produced by Producer Ryozo Tsuijimoto reveals a new feature of Monster Hunter: Rise. Includes locations, monsters and some game mechanics.
The Frost Islands used to be a hotbed for large dragons, but are now frozen lands with life still hiding in various places. The newest monster introduced is Goss Harag, a monster like Oni who breathes ice and can create ice blades and shock waves. A Leviathan-class Mizutsune is also revealed, a creature that creates floating bubbles that slows down the Hunters.
Magnamalo, who was present during Rise’s first trailer, was also discussed. This monster has a tough armour and generates burning gas from its body. The returning monsters include Barioth, Lagombi, Khezu, Great Baggi, and Tigrex.
Wyvern Riding mechanic is revealed. Once unlocked, players can mount and control monsters for a short time after dealing enough damage via Wirebug or air attacks. The player can then hit this monster against the wall, or make it attack other monsters.
The characters in the base are also discussed. Village Elder Fugen, Minoto and Hinoa handle Village Quests and Hub Missions. Yomogi runs a Tea Shop, Iori as Buddy Handler, Kogarashi which offers Meowcenaries services. Until Rondine the merchant.
Villagers and more characters will help out during The Rampage, which will be discussed further later. The base also has a training area and can change the training dummy’s behaviour and training targets.
The Monster Hunter Rise demo game will launch today and is available until February 1. The demo will have four quests (two of which are tutorials), and all fourteen types of playable weapons. Both hunting missions can be played in local and online co-op along with solos. Players will hunt Great Izuchi and Mizutsune.
