Developer Cyanide and publisher Nacon released new information and images of Blood Bowl III during the “Games Made in France” event from October 29th to November 1st.
Project leader Gautier Bresard and game designer Basile Bastian announced that the game would feature 12 teams at launch. In addition to the Human, Orc, Dark Elf, Elven Union, Skaven, Dwarf, Nurgle, and Chaos Chosen teams, four other teams have been added, including two from the new version the board game: the Black Orcs and Imperial Nobility. The last two teams will be the Old World Alliance, which includes dwarves and humans, and Chaos Renegades, which is made up of players so dirty and cheating that no other team wanted them.
They promised that Blood Bowl III would be the most accurate and complete adaptation of the board game so far. It will include Special Play Cards, which can give units temporary abilities or assassinate members of the opposing team before the match begins.
Cyanide has also added its touch to the world of Blood Bowl III with a campaign mode and the inclusion of different characters, such as sponsors and Star Players, that will challenge the player. It was also revealed that the teams would have more customization options than previous games, including changing colors, patterns, logos, pieces of armor, stadiums, and several other elements.
Finally, it has been confirmed that Blood Bowl III will receive content, competitions, improvements, and community support after launch.
Blood Bowl III will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam in early 2021.
