Mortal Shell, the cross-platform soulslike developed by Cold Simmetry, will receive its first paid expansion on August 18, 2021, exactly one year after the game’s launch. The new DLC will be called The Virtuous Cycle. The first trailer will introduce new explorable areas, weapons, abilities, an interesting game mode, and even a new class.
The main focus of this new paid expansion is the roguelike mode, which will allow players to venture into procedurally generated worlds to gain experience and new skills. Speaking of the latter, the DLC introduces about a hundred upgrades for weapons and moves, plus a new shell called “Hardern” based on mastery with daggers and the ability to absorb life by attacking enemies.
The trailer below also unveils a new weapon, the Axatana, a two-handed ax that can be transformed into a double katana with the comfortable press of a button.
Mortal Shell: The Virtuous Cycle will debut on August 18 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store, or GOG). The introductory price is € 6.99 on all platforms.
