Capcom has revealed that several new monsters will arrive at Nintendo Switch’s Monster Hunter Rise as part of the first free update, available today. The content includes powerful Ancient Dragons and Apex variations of two of the most popular creatures in the series.
Elder dragons Kushala Daora, Theostra, and Chameleons form the trio of powerful opponents of the upgrade. Next to them are Apex Diablos and Apex Rathalos. In addition, Apex monsters already available in Rise can be hunted out of Frenzy missions. Magnamalo was also added to the Frenzy quest rotation.
The update also allows players to create tiered armor, and the maximum rank will be unlocked when players meet all required conditions. New event journeys will also be released after the update is updated, and these can be played offline once downloaded.
Finally, a new paid cosmetic DLC is available for purchase, with new voiceover options, sticker sets, gestures, layered armor for companions, and “more.”
Monster Hunter Rise is not Capcom’s only ad game; several new features of Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin have also been revealed. The turn-by-turn battle system of the original game has been improved, and now weapon types, elements, and abilities will be an important part of defeating enemy monsters.
As in the main series, the combat system will allow certain parts of the monster’s body to be broken. Unlike traditional games, however, players may have a monster of their own to perform powerful attacks.
