A person is everything that exists between humanity and the greatest threat we have ever faced. Today, Electronic Arts studio and BioWare revealed that Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will be released worldwide on May 14 for PC via Origin and Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S compatibility.
Mass Effect: Legendary Edition presents the base game and more than 40 downloadable content (DLCs) of Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 weapons and armor pack and will allow players to relive the legend of Commander Shepard in 4K Ultra HD with HDR.
“It was an incredible journey to revisit the iconic stories, characters and moments of the Mass Effect trilogy, enhancing the experience for modern platforms without losing allegiance to the spirit of the original story,” said Mac Walters, Project Director for Mass Effect: Legendary Edition and main writer of the original BioWare trilogy. “Remastering a game is already a big challenge, so imagine three games. In total, it’s over 100 hours of gameplay, but we wanted to do that for our fans, as well as for a new generation of players who want to play Shepard’s iconic story. ”
Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will offer an enhanced visual experience with remastered character models and tens of thousands of highlighted textures. Improvements in shaders and visual effects, updated lighting, enhanced dynamic shadows, volumetry, and field depth add a new level of immersion throughout the trilogy. Pre-rendered cinematics have also been enhanced to make every moment in history even more impactful.
The original Mass Effect game features comprehensive world-building improvements with additional details and depths at Eden Prime, llos, and Feros, which players will explore on their journey through the galaxy. Mass Effect also includes updated interfaces and UI and a variety of improvements in quality of life. Also, combat and exploration are modernized through improved targeting, squadron controls and behavior, Mako control, and cameras.
Mass Effect: Legendary Edition features unified character creation options (which persist across all three titles) and is complete with an improved and expanded selection of hair, makeup, and skin tone options. Shepard’s iconic female appearance in Mass Effect 3 is now available as a standard in character creation across all three games, further adding to the unified experience throughout the trilogy.
A collector’s edition (which does not come with the game) is pre-ordered at the BioWare store for $ 149.99.
