Crystal Dynamics, the developer behind Marvel’s Avengers, confirmed that the PlayStation-exclusive Spider-Man DLC would include story content and cutscenes when it comes out.
MP1ST noted that Crystal Dynamics’ Senior Producer Dan Matlack responded to a fan’s question via Marvel’s Avengers Discord server asking if Spidey would come up with his own story. “Spider-Man is what we call an ‘event,’ so he has cutscenes and a story,” said Matlack.
Matlack then gave fans more details about the first Raid in the game, pitting players against Klaw, the main villain from Marvel’s Avengers latest expansion, War for Wakanda. Matlack reassured fans that while the Raid will contain familiar environments, it will be a “unique” experience.
Marvel’s Avengers confirmed that Spider-Man would be in the game, which was controversial as it turned out to be a PlayStation exclusive character, back in August of last year. At the time, it was thought that the character would come to the game in early 2021. When Spider-Man’s release was delayed, and little news came out of the studio, fans became concerned. Now it has been confirmed that Spider-Man is definitely on the way.
Through a new roadmap for Marvel’s Avengers, the developer made it official that Spider-Man should be released before the end of 2021.
