Despite the huge potential of the IP and a pretty solid launch, Marvel’s Avengers didn’t pay off but was even called “a disappointment” by Square Enix President Yosuke Matsuda. However, the recent arrival of Spider-Man and the new Klaw Raid has somehow managed to revive the game, and now Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that the title will also be supported in 2022 and that a new Roadmap is full of contents will be published at the beginning of the year.
“After working hard on our first Raid and introducing Spider-Man as a playable character, we are about to take a break for the holiday season,” writes Crystal Dynamics on their website, “of course, we won’t stop completely, but indeed we will continue to remove bugs and solve problems, while we prepare for the next update. In the meantime, keep following us for the first information on the new Roadmap, due out at the beginning of 2022! “.
In the same post, Crystal Dynamics confirms the arrival of a new patch in the current week, mostly focused on removing bugs.
So no stop for Marvel’s Avengers, with launch support that will almost certainly continue for at least two total years, from launch in September 2022 to the summer of 2022. Considering the decreasing number of active players, this is a considerable effort from Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics. They intend to keep their word and improve the game as much as possible.
