The first post-launch update for Mafia: Definitive Edition was released today and added new features and options to the action-adventure remake game.
The first new feature is Noir Mode, which changes the overall game visuals to black and white. It includes both gameplay and cinematics and can be enabled and disabled in the options menu.
The in-game HUD is now customizable with the update, allowing players to turn the world’s main destination marker, mini-map enemy marker, and navigation and GPS mini-map feature on or off. There is also a Minimal HUD mode that can hide HUD icons such as mini-map, speedometer, and destination text.
Hangar 13 also adds “some new gameplay features” to the game’s Free Ride mode, but doesn’t specify what exactly. Free Ride mode allows players to explore Lost Heaven aimlessly but still discover collectible secrets and more.
This update also fixes certain issues such as unlockable cars from Lucas Bertone’s missions, special kill animations that don’t get triggered in missions The Saint and The Sinner, and certain cinematics that sometimes feature a black screen.
Mafia: Definitive Edition and its updates are now available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
