Loopmancer, a platform roguelite themed cyberpunk planned for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
The game developed by Ebrain Studio and distributed by Yooreka Studio puts players in control of Xiang Zi Xu, a private detective with a military past. His mission is to find a popular journalist.
After dying, the protagonist wakes up in bed and realizes that he is trapped in a time loop that restarts each death.
The game takes place in the year 2046 in a fictional city inspired by Hong Kong. Humans and machines live close together in this future, with connections between brains and computers, bionic prostheses, and more. As a cyberpunk work, the glaring discrepancy between wealth and poverty is also wide open in this society.
The gameplay is platform action that combines combat with firearms, melee weapons, and more than 30 technological items. Additionally, Xiang has access to several unique abilities. Merging this with multiple movement skills, the protagonist will explore seven different levels with a complex level design to challenge players.
Xiang will face over 30 types of enemies, each with distinct behavior. To defeat them all, players will have to vary their fighting styles. For this, it will be possible to rely on the entire arsenal previously described and the scenarios themselves, which have interactive elements. For example, it will be possible to explode barrels of oil or cause drones to collide with each other.
Loopmancer’s story will offer choices for the player to determine the path they prefer to take based on their clues about the journalist’s disappearance. The developers promise a butterfly effect that will lead to the end of the game and impact many characters’ fate.
Loopmancer arrives for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles, and PC at a date to be announced.
