Mexican indie studio Ogre Pixel recently posted its “puzzle-filled life simulator” Lonesome Village on Kickstarter, hoping to hit its 420,000 pesos (or just under $ 20,000) goal. They reached that goal within 24 hours, and now they have nearly doubled it with 26 more days left.
In Lonesome Village, you play as a coyote and must help rebuild the village and rescue abducted locals from a mysterious tower. You have a house and garden to look after, fish to catch, animal people to befriend, and a Zelda-style dungeon adventure.
Ogre Pixel says they’ve gone about a third of the way, but needed Kickstarter to raise enough funds to focus on completing Lonesome Village by mid-2021. You can find the demo at itch.io, and the completed game will appear on Steam.
