Sony recently shut down LittleBigPlanet’s old game servers to protect and keep users safe from incessant online hacker attacks. PS3 and PS Vita titles will still be playable offline, but the only way to play online will be with LittleBigPlanet 3 for PS4, whose servers are still active.
Continued hacker attacks on the LittleBigPlanet franchise have resulted in Sony permanently shutting down the servers for almost every title in the series. As reported on the official game account, the online services for the three LittleBigPlanet for PS3 and LittleBigPlanet PS Vita have been officially disabled.
The PS4 version of LBP 3 seems to be still online with users who will continue creating and sharing content with the community. As stated in the message, older game servers have been shut down to “protect the community and help ensure that our online environment remains safe.”
It should be noted that all levels published online with older games will still be accessible in LBP 3 on PS4. For the rest, the old games can still be played offline without problems. For those who want to play online, the only choice available now remains LittleBigPlanet 3 for PS4.
