The Lexar brand is the NQ100 2.5-inch solid-state drive equipped with a SATA 6Gb/s interface. It is marketed as an easy upgrade option for users looking to improve laptop or desktop computers’ performance.
The 7mm thick drive is available in 240, 480, and 960 GB sizes. All three variants have a maximum sequential read speed of 550 MB / s. The manufacturer does not give the write speed but admits that it is somewhat lower. In terms of resource, for a 240 GB drive, the specs give a value of 84 TBW, for a 480 GB drive, 168 TBW, and a 960 GB drive, 336 TBW. These figures correspond to the ability to completely rewrite the drive 3.2 times per day during the three-year warranty period.
NQ100 drives of 240 and 480 GB are priced at 37 and 66 dollars, respectively. Their sales begin this month. The manufacturer promises to name the price and start date of the 960 GB variant later.
