LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be released on April 5th. It also received a new gameplay trailer.
After several delays, it looks like Anakin, Obi-Wan, Luke, Rey, and company are on their way to the LEGO saga. The nine films of the Skywalker Saga (Episode I to IX) arrive in well-known building blocks. We were able to see a new trailer that showcases the LEGO version of some of the most iconic scenes from the films and a glimpse of the more than 300 characters available.
In the displayed gameplay, we can see that the typical third-person camera of LEGO games has some changes here. It is closer to the action, to the character the player controls. According to the narration, we will start the campaign in Episode IV (Original Trilogy) or Episode I (Prequel Trilogy), with subsequent episodes unlocking as we go through the story of each trilogy.
There will also be a Galaxy Map, which will grow as we visit more planets. We can use the map to travel to any of these worlds as we face space battles in the most iconic vehicles from Star Wars. Each mission will have multiple paths that players can follow – more stealth-focused, direct, etc.
Players will have the main story to follow but are also encouraged to explore the galaxy, with side quests and other planets to discover.
The upgrade system will also get a makeover. Kyber Bricks are used to upgrade different character classes – Jedi, Hero, Scavenger, Scoundrel, Bounty Hunter, Villain, Dark Side, Astromech Droid, and Protocol Droid.
In a good way of LEGO games, Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will have a series of extras that can be unlocked, serving as cheats within the game. Replace lightsabers with baguettes, Hologram Mode, Retro Mode, Porgs as Companions, and more.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
