Nintendo has surprisingly released the first official trailer of Kirby and the Forgotten Land, the new 3D adventure video game dedicated to the famous pink creature. The game will debut on March 25, 2022, only on Switch, and will see Kirby and his new companion Elfilin travel to an unknown land to save the Waddle Dee, kidnapped in droves by the dangerous “army of beasts.”
In Kirby and the Forgotten Land, players will take on the role of little Kirby, on a mission to an unknown world to save the Waddle Dee, captured and held captive by a new group of enemies. During the adventure, the protagonist will visit a series of lively 3D worlds and will be able to use new skills to get the better of his opponents and complete a series of areas full of platforming challenges. Similar to what is seen in Super Mario Odyssey, the adventure will take the protagonist to different biomes, to be explored from top to bottom to save as many prisoners as possible.
To make the experience even more rewarding, Kirby and the Forgotten Land will also include the City of Waddle Dee, which will serve as the central hub of the adventure. The city will develop more and more based on the number of Waddle Dee saved, and as time goes by, different shops will open, and different types of minigames will be offered.
Given the size of the game, Nintendo has confirmed that Kirby may also have a co-star in his adventure. Taking advantage of local co-op multiplayer, players will invite a friend and experience the adventure as a couple by sharing a Joy-Con. Furthermore, by going online, it will be possible to discover the players’ global data and see how many Waddle Dee has been saved all over the world and which is the most popular copying ability at that moment.
On Nintendo Switch, Kirby and the Forgotten Land will be available from March 25, 2022. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the pink creature, you can also go to the online store and download free wallpaper.
