It is an unleashed Insomniac Games that is characterizing the first months of the life of PlayStation 5: after launching Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and the most recent Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, the software house has announced the development of a new project dedicated to one of the most representative heroes of Marvel comics: Wolverine. No details on the launch date of the game, which should arrive exclusively on PlayStation 5.
With a short teaser shown at the PlayStation Showcase event, Sony has removed the veils from one of the new projects in development at Insomniac Games: it is a Marvel’s Wolverine, a new video game dedicated to the characters of the Marvel comics that will put us in the shoes of one of the most famous mutants made by the House of Ideas.
On the pages of PlayStation Blog, Insomniac Games has revealed that it has proposed to Marvel a project on Wolverine after years of “courtship” in which the name of the mutant with the claws of adamantium kept coming back. According to the developers, the new game has in common with Spider-Man a character side of the two heroes: the need to protect those who are unable to defend themselves.
Marvel’s Wolverine is still in the early stages of development under creative director Brian Horton and game director Cameron Christian, recently at the helm of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Even in this case, the goal is to respect the character’s DNA by placing him at the center of an adventure with a particularly emotional narrative component and cutting-edge gameplay. With the newly announced Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 coming out in 2023, it’s safe to expect this new project for PS5 to arrive between 2024 and 2025.
