The new HTC Vive Facial Tracker that recognizes facial movements is now available as an accessory for the Vive headset. HTC says this on its website.
If you attach the Facial Tracker to the bottom of your Vive headset, the two built-in cameras can track up to 38 different movements on the bottom of your face. If you combine the tracker with a Vive Pro Eye Tracker, all facial movements are realistically displayed.
It doesn’t stop there because HTC also brings the new Vive Tracker 3.0 to the market. It’s 33% smaller, 15% lighter, and its battery should last 75% longer. Furthermore, the tracker can detect all movements in a field of view of 240 degrees, and you will be able to connect it to all SteamVR headsets.
The Facial Tracker and the new Vive Tracker both cost 139 euros.
