Chongqing is a new location that takes Agent 47 into the rainy, neon-lit streets of a Chinese transportation hub full of shops and food stalls, all crammed into narrow streets – with many secrets off the beaten path. Chongqing is also the destination to showcase the improvements and refinements that come with Hitman 3 technology.
Equipped with IO Interactive’s proprietary Glacier engine, Hitman 3 will look, sound, and play better than ever with improvements in lighting, reflections, animation, and AI. Chongqing also features full water effects, with details like raindrops hitting Agent 47 and his clothes getting wet.
On next-generation consoles, Hitman 3 will run in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second with HDR support. The latest trailer, “Under The Hood,” shows this new location with new gameplay moments that show the refinements for interaction animation and AI and Glacier crowd technology to allow up to 300 NPCs in one location time.
Hitman 3 players can import locations from previous games in the trilogy and have more than 20 locations under one roof. All the rendering, animation, and AI improvements introduced can be enjoyed in all three games, making Hitman 3 the best place to play the entire World of Assassination trilogy.
Hitman 3 will be released on January 20, 2021, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Stadia, and PC via Epic Games Store. A Cloud Version will be released for Switch.
