IO Interactive Hitman 3′s murder simulation game was revealed to be coming to Switch last October. We now have a date when that version of the game will be released, and surprisingly, it will be soon. Hitman 3 will arrive on Switch on the same day it launches on all other platforms which are January 20th.
Of course, there is one downside to this happy news. Hitman 3, like Control, is to hardware-intensive for the Switch. The tablet-sized console can’t run games like PS4 or Xbox One in full size, let alone the current generation console. So instead, to run on the Switch, Hitman 3 can only be played via the cloud. Unfortunately, that means whenever you want to play IO Interactive’s newest game on the Switch console, you will need a stable internet connection, preferably high speed.
IO Interactive revealed the release date for Hitman 3 today via a tweet. There are not many details about the game on offer, including what kind of quality players can expect to run the game. Because later it will be played via streaming to the Switch, Hitman 3 may run with the same quality as other console counterparts.
It’s also one of the sad news as IO Interactive has emphasized the visual enhancements players will find in Hitman 3. The entire video was made by the developer showing off new lighting techniques, water physics, and many other graphic improvements in Hitman 3. However, this is not clear. how many new features players can expect on the Switch. This probably doesn’t matter, as a lot of that detail will likely be missing in the Switch version.
Hitman 3 will arrive on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X also on January 20.
