Video games with the theme of space exploration are not new. However, until now, there is still no game capable of creating a 1:1 world as large as the galaxy. At least for a video game that has been completed even though Star Citizen can be in that category.
But not for the Dangerous Elite. Even though this MMORPG game is only limited to space exploration, the appearance of its world, which is a galaxy with a size of 1:1, deserves a thumbs up. Unfortunately, the absence of the feature to leave the plane is still a dream for players. Luckily, an expansion called Odyssey will fulfill that dream.
Even though Frontier as the developer doesn’t show off anything about Odyssey other than the trailer. Today they finally show it off.
Through a video series titled dev diary with the first episode entitled “One Giant Leap,” Frontier shows the alpha version of Elite Dangerous Odyssey. It is starting from the three main planets to exploration out of the plane. Several flora or plants grow randomly on each planet, including the dangerous and dangerous areas stored in the corners of the planet.
In exploring the planet, astronauts will be equipped with a tool to collect genetic data that can be sold to get income from the world’s inhabitants.
Unfortunately, there are still many things that Frontier hasn’t explained about the Elite Dangerous Odyssey. Whether exploration out of the plane will be more complicated with a space station, headquarters, a fictional city, or just a data collection exploration like No Man’s Sky without any building features.
Elite Dangerous Odyssey is planned to be released early 2021 on PC.
