According to Nintendo, the Happy Home Paradise expansion for Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be “the first and only paid DLC” for the game.
This confirms, therefore, that after the release of Update 2.0 and the paid expansion later this week, there will be no more new content for the popular Switch exclusive, as Nintendo previously announced that this update would be the last free.
In a statement issued to IGN, a spokesperson for the Japanese company explained that the expansion “introduces a new playable experience. It is an important update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons and offers a different playable experience. Therefore, it made sense to include it as the First and only paid DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. “
New Horizons had sold more than 32.6 million copies worldwide as of March 31, 2021, becoming the second best-selling Switch title in history after Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Nintendo promised regular updates with new content, but the cadence has slowed considerably in recent months, and only a handful of new furniture has been added.
On October 5, this Friday, the latest update will be published, and the content will be seen for sentencing. As you may already know, Happy Home Paradise is included in the new paid Expansion Pack for the Nintendo Switch Online subscription, although it can also be purchased separately.
