Some time ago, Microsoft announced that it would close the servers of the various Halo games available on Xbox 360 in December. Still, the date has been moved slightly forward for some reason: the multiplayer of the titles involved will stop working on January 13, 2022.
It is good to specify that the titles will still be functional and playable in their sections or single-player campaigns and that the action will have consequences only on the multiplayer sector.
” Keeping these classic servers running today takes significant time and resources that significantly impact the studio’s ability to support current and future projects, such as Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Halo Infinite, ” said 343.
These are the titles involved:
- Halo: Reach
- Halo 4
- Halo 3
- Halo 3: ODST
- Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
- Spartan Assault
- Halo Wars
This, of course, will apply even if the games are started in backward compatibility. Still, it will not involve those played through the Halo: The Master Chief Collection since these are builds made specifically for the collection, with separate servers.
