At dawn, the gaming world will come together to discover the best games of the year, announced at The Game Awards ceremony, once again presented by creator Geoff Keighley.
For several weeks, we’ve known the nominees in the various categories, as there are always notable absences from the lists, namely games that were left out of consideration, having been released only this month.
One such example is Halo Infinite, a game released yesterday but was distinguished, categorically, by the community of players, which awarded it the ‘ Players’ Voice ‘ award.
There were three rounds of voting, the finalists being Forza Horizon 5, Resident Evil Village, It Takes Two, Metroid Dread, and Halo Infinite. Even though they didn’t have time to finish the campaign, players didn’t hesitate to hand over the prize to the 343 Industries game.
The list of finalist games also includes Forza Horizon 5, one of the missing titles from the final list of nominees for GOTY, the most desirable prize of the night.
