343 Industries has revealed its planned 2022 Halo Infinite roadmap, including a late August release window for the long-awaited online co-op campaign.
Halo Infinite creative lead Joseph Staten revealed all the details at Halo Waypoint, and while they’re subject to change, they give a good idea of what to expect for the rest of the year in the game. 343 also notes that the timetable “will expand as we announce longer-term initiatives” and that the “roadmap is an evolving document. “

The roadmap begins by focusing on “Lone Wolves” Season 2, which will run from May 3 to November 7. We already knew that Season 2 would launch with a new 100-tier Battle Pass, two new maps in Catalyst (Arena) and Breaker (BTB), and three new game modes in King of the Hill, Land Grab, and Last Spartan Standing.
What did become a little clearer were some of the events and news that will arrive during Lone Wolves. Among them was the network cooperative campaign at the end of August and the open beta of Forge in September. These release windows are your goals, and they may change, but it puts your development progress on display.
As for Forge, 343 decided to forgo a “full-scale formal flight program and go straight to open beta .” Once released, it will not go away and continue to evolve and grow over time.
Season 2 will also include a new Fracture mode in Entrenched (whose first week will begin on May 24) and two narrative events in Interference from May 3 to 16 and in Alpha Pack from July 19 to August 1. These “multiplayer narrative events” “will put your Spartan at the center of an evolving seasonal story.”
343 also briefly looked at what we can expect from the currently untitled Season 3, which kicks off on November 8. It will bring a new Battle Pass, maps, modes, sandbox items, narrative events, fracturing events, and a split-screen co-op campaign.
The lack of consistent content was also addressed, with 343 saying that he is well aware that he needs to do more but won’t do it at the cost of his team’s health.
“We know we need to deliver more content and features faster,” 343 wrote. “Staying true to the priority of team health means sometimes we have to slow down to stay healthy and move faster afterward. But we’re also aggressively looking for ways to accelerate .”
In closing, 343 shared that they will be releasing quality of life fix updates as they are ready (probably once a month) and will be doing a deep dive on Season 2 and the roadmap on April 27.
