Today, French studio Spiders and publisher Nacon announced Greedfall 2: The Dying World, the sequel to 2019’s open-world RPG Greedfall. The first game developed on a premium indie budget and updated in 2021 with next-generation upgrades managed to sell 2 million copies in three years, proving the studio’s biggest success. Of course, the developers didn’t let the chance to make a sequel.
Greedfall 2: The Dying World will be set three years after De Sardet’s adventure and will feature a native of the wild island of Teer Fradee, the place where the events of the first chapter take place. After being forcibly subdued by the invading settlers, the protagonist is transported to the continent of Gacane, controlled by the colonizers, where political schemes, wars, and deaths from Malinchor’s disease are the order of the day. The player will have to shape their destiny, regain freedom and take control by leveraging diplomacy, combat, and new allies.
Greedfall 2: The Dying World is in development and will be released in 2024 on consoles and PC. It has not been confirmed whether the game will only arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S or even on last-gen. Waiting for the launch, we remind you that Spiders will soon release another RPG, Steelrising, due out in September.
