For December, Sony has decided to give away three new titles to PS Plus subscribers: Mortal Shell, Lego DC Super-Villains, and Godfall Challenger Edition. A good line-up, even if the version of Godfall proposed is not the standard one desired by fans, but a cut edition without campaign, level-up, and with a minimized progression system.
Godfall Challenger Edition will not include a story mode, only endgame content, unlike the regular game. This means that not being able to level all players will immediately start at level 50 and will immediately receive weapons, legendary armor, and all the skill points necessary to face challenges and final bosses. It is a way to repopulate the servers since the only progression system foreseen is obtaining legendary weapons and armor or skins for your character.
The endgame modes included are Lightbringer, Dream Stones, and Tower of Trials Ascent. The first is a challenge against hordes that ends with an epic final boss battle; the second offers random encounters with enemies and bosses. It allows you to unlock new equipment, while the third is a tower to climb to defeat the final boss. The Fire & Darkness expansion content is not included in the Challenger Edition, so no extra enemies, Realm of Fire, and so on. Sony confirms that it is always possible to upgrade for a fee to unlock all content in all cases.
Despite the fans’ disappointment, who has not missed an opportunity to express their disappointment on social networks, Godfall Challenger Edition will still include many contents. It will allow everyone to play in co-op, even cross-gen. Before throwing yourself into the fray, however, you should look at the tutorial seen throwing headlong into the endgame will not make it easy for your teammates.
