In the last game of the God of War franchise, Santa Monica Studios introduced us to Atreus, the unlikely son of the God of War, Kratos.
At the PlayStation 5 presentation, which took place last year, Sony revealed to the world that it was developing the sequel to the 2018 game, named God of War: Ragnarok.
Now, and through Santa Monica conceptual artist Samuel Matthews, we learn that God of War 2 will be heavily inspired by The Last of Us 2, just as the first was inspired by The Last of Us.
The revelation came through a video on Instagram, where the producer talked a little about the sequel to it, pointing out that players may, to some extent, be able to take on Atreus, just as it happens with Ellie in The Last of Us.
Matthews assumed that the production team might consider doing something similar to what Naughty Dog did but did not confirm that this could happen.
God of War: Ragnarok is scheduled for release in 2021 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, but the lack of news may suggest that we will not see the sequel this year.
