Santa Monica Studio has released a new update for God of War that improves game performance on PlayStation 5.
“The launch of the PlayStation 5 was an exciting time for everyone here at Santa Monica Studio! We were especially excited to see all players take advantage of backward compatibility to try God of War (2018) on new hardware, as well as those who first purchased the game through the PlayStation Plus Collection. Since then, our team has been working on a video graphics mode option that will allow players to get the most out of the PlayStation 5’s enhanced performance.”
This update brought a game mode targeting 60fps and 4K rendering using checkerboard rendering.
Players can return to PlayStation 4 Pro mode, which targets 30 frames per second, selecting “Initial Performance Level” in the options.
God of War is available on PlayStation 4. A sequel titled God of War: Ragnarok is currently in development.
