On July 13, Genshin Impact will update to version 2.8, introducing many new events, missions, and content, as well as the reruns of three characters much loved by fans: Kaedehara Kazuha, Klee, and Yoimiya. Now, awaiting the update’s arrival, MiHoYo has shared a new trailer that shows Sumeru, the new and gigantic explorable region arriving in version 3.0, together with the highly anticipated Dendro element. A leak also revealed the potential release date of the update, which is August 24, 2022.
The new trailer released by MiHoYo shows the lush jungles of Sumeru, the Dendro region, and the next stop for all Genshin Impact players, who, almost two years after launch, will finally be able to visit the fourth of the seven overall regions of Teyvat. Furthermore, the Dendro element will be the last of the seven announced by MiHoYo and will bring new strategies, reactions, and ways of interacting with the environment.
Theoretically, the release of update 3.0 with the new region should be scheduled for this fall, after the launch of version 2.9. Still, some dataminers have noticed that the game database version 2.8 is the last one before the big update. A little over a year ago, before the arrival of Inazuma, MiHoYo directly skipped the 1.7, 1.8, and 1.9 updates, going from 1.6 to 2.0, and it is possible that before the end of the summer, something similar happens. If so, the next update scheduled for August 24 should be 3.0.
