After the leaks of the last few weeks, MiHoYo has decided to officially unveil the two new playable characters of Genshin Impact, presumably coming out with update 2.3 on November 24, 2021. The first is Gorou, general of Watatsumi’s army and right arm of Kokomi Sangonomiya, while the second is Arataki Itto, the rival of Kujou Sara, leader of the Arataki Gang.
Gorou was introduced during the first chapter of Inazuma’s story and has appeared several times alongside Kokomi. He fights using the bow and is equipped with Geo element powers. According to the leaks, it has not been confirmed if he will be a 4 or 5-star rarity character, but he should be a legendary character.
Arataki Itto is a half-demon of Inazuma, leader of the Arataki Gang, a group of bandits he founded. Before the protagonist arrived in the Inazuma archipelago, he was defeated in a duel by Kujou Sara and lost his vision and the powers of the Geo element. From that day, he travels around the islands and trains to take revenge. Considering that he is a Geo character of 5 Star rarity, it is practically certain that he will regain his vision throughout history.
Pending the release of these two characters, MiHoYo has confirmed two reruns during the 2.2 updates. The first will see the return of Childe, the first legendary character to receive three reruns, the protagonist of the new timed banner active from October 13 to November 2, 2021. Together with him, there will be Chongyun, Yanfei, and Ningguang.
Later it will be the turn of Hu Tao, another legendary character who will receive a rerun during the 2.2 updates. Thoma, a new 4-star Pyro-type character, will come with her, plus two other characters whose identity we will discover in early November.
