Genshin Impact recently updated to version 2.1, putting an end to the main story of Inazuma and adding lots of content, including four new characters and two explorable islands. As usual, about a month after the publication of the new update, the first leaks have appeared, and we finally have an idea of what awaits us in update 2.2.
The biggest news of October is the new explorable island, Tsurumi Island, the last area of Inazuma. Therefore, the Raiden Shogun region will be complete as of the release of the new update, with a new area described as “uninhabited, shrouded in fog and full of danger.” The island will also arrive with a new playable character, Thoma, already introduced in the main adventure and ready to travel with the protagonist’s team.
Thoma will be a 4-Star Pyro-type fighter armed with a spear, designed to fill support. The character’s standard attack is a four-hit combo, while the elemental ability allows him to deal Pyro-type AoE damage and create a shield that scales with his maximum HP and infuses his attacks with the Pyro element.
Elemental Burst deals Pyro-type AoE damage to all nearby enemies and activates the Schorching Panoply effect, which in turn reactivates the shield and allows all standard attacks to create heat waves. The effect in question lasts 15 seconds and is active for all characters on the team. Below you can take a look at the character showcase and the new explorable map.
Among other things, the presence of a new timed event called Labyrinth Warriors has been confirmed, a sort of roguelike dungeon in which you will have to defeat rooms full of enemies to receive buffs and reach the final goal. The currency obtained by completing the various stages can be exchanged to receive Primogems and other resources, including Xinyan, the new character, as a gift.
Among the other novelties of update 2.2, the reruns of three characters seem to be confirmed: Ganyu, Albedo, and Hu Tao. For the moment, no information has been revealed about Yae Miko, another playable character highly anticipated by fans, nor par Gorou. Finally, the housing system will be embellished with a new layout inspired by Inazuma and the possibility of growing flowers to give to friends.
