Generating tactics to defeat the bosses in Sekiro: Shadow Die Twice is the main key to win this game. However, since each boss has strong fighting skills that can’t be trounced even by a pro player, then you need to know the secret of doing it.
Ashina Outskirts will be the first challenging area to be paralyzed before facing the stronger bosses. Here is the list of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice bosses that you will meet during the Ashina Outskirts journey and their weakness areas.
General Naomori Kawarada
Sneaking and blocking is the main point to win over him. Make sure that you sneak carefully without him knowing to stab him. Do it in the back; otherwise, you will be killed. This time he will lose one life. The rest of the lives will be losing slowly by simple attacks. Block his attack before it touches you and do this attacking-blocking phase until he gets his guard broken.
Before heading out to the ogre, you have to defeat all the mobs both in the bottom and upstairs. The ogre can be defeated just by hitting and dodging. Make sure that you are on the back of the ogre to attack him because he will immediately kill you if you are in front of him. You can easily beat him from the back by repeating some hits.
General Tenzen Yamauchi
Use the combination of strategy for General Naomori and Chained Ogre you have learned before. Defeat all the mobs and then sneak to the back of the boss. Attack from the back to get him losing one of his lives and do the dodging-striking strategy used to kill the Chained Ogre. You can win over him once he breaks his defense.
Although you have met the big bosses and defeat them in the previous Ashina Outskirts areas, Gyoubu Oniwa is much bigger in fighting skills. You might meet difficulties in defeating the bosses before, but he is the first real one. He can attack you from a distant place but doesn’t have a good defense over enemies. He has a spear he can use to attack you in a long-distance by riding a horse.
All you need to do along with the chain attack is to blocking and blocking. Just keep blocking until he gets tired and rest for seconds to hit him then. Although you need to do blocking, you need to learn the blocking pattern during the first minutes. No attacking, just blocking to find the right timing. Remember to keep your distance from him and never make any attack when he is targeting you. It does take time, but it is worth the wait.
You don’t need to take any risk by doing this strategy. Hit him twice whenever he stops for seconds. Please pay attention to the green dot appearing on his head. Once it comes, grapple and hit. Grappling will stop him from moving, and that is the time you can make two hits. Repeat the pattern until you can execute him.
While blocking can still save your life during the battle with the previous Ashina Outskirts’ bosses, now you can’t use the same strategy because your enemy is much more powerful. The good news is that it has one life only that you can easily kill him whenever you get the opportunity, but once it makes an attack, you can’t block it without damage. Luckily, the fighting pattern of the flaming bull is simple. It will either run to you or hit you using the horns. The weakness is that the bull can only hit using the horns, and they can’t block enemies’ attacks.
So what you need to do is dodging and hitting. Dodge, whenever it comes forward and hit from the back. Please pay attention to how the bull makes an attack is critical since it has a specific way of hitting by sliding the horns across the ground to create such a deathly movement. This kind of attack can quickly kill you by just one hit. Dodging forward is the best blocking technique because it allows you to avoid the attack completely.
After running, the bull will turn around, and that is the time you can hit him from the back. Remember to do it from behind. The pattern is to dodging-hitting repeated until the end of the battle. Never take any risk by attacking the bull from the sides because you can significantly lose your health from being touched by the running bull.
Learning the fighting pattern during the first stage of the game is very important because you cant continue completing the rest of the battles if you fail the first, which is considered the easiest among all. After beating up all the bosses in Ashina Outskirts, then you will be headed with more powerful bosses in the next field, so be ready and always learn the pattern by just analyzing it from the first minutes of the battle from each boss.
