Activision unveiled today during the PS5 Showcase held by Sony the first gameplay trailer for the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War campaign. The trailer shows a small part of the campaign’s first mission, titled Nowhere Left to Run, running on PlayStation 5.
The trailer shows a newly formed group of CIA operators arriving on Turkey’s northern coast in the middle of the night. Information indicates that a key member in a situation with developing hostages is fleeing the country via the Trabzon Airfield. With rumors that the Cold War spy named Perseus is returning, it is time for these operators to make their way hoping that their high-profile target holds the key to avoid preventing an attack on the free world.
Mission Summary: Nowhere Left to Run
Developed by Raven Software, the single-player campaign will take players back to the early 1980s at the Cold War height to prevent a subversive plot with global implications: a thermonuclear war threat.
As a direct sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops, it all starts with Nowhere Left to Run. In this mission, you play as CIA Operator Alex Mason, who arrives in Trabzon with his fellow operators, including the hero returning to the Frank Woods series. And his new ally Russell Adler.
Specifically, the CIA team, an airport at the time when Arash, its high-priority target (AAA), is about to board a cargo plane. After witnessing the cruelty against his men, the player must take a decisive shot at his target.
Next Generation Feeling for the Next Generation of Global Combat
This intense mission comes to life like never before, thanks to the power of the PlayStation 5.
Thanks to ray-tracing technology, the shadows, and lighting of this night operation are more dynamic and real, which can be seen at an impressive 4K resolution and up to 120 frames per second (compatible display required) and support the HDR enabled.
During the mad rush to neutralize your target and destroy the cargo on board, the DualSense wireless controller will give you haptic feedback, making you feel the impact of every movement moving your wrist and explosions in your hands. This can also be felt through Tempest 3D AudioTech, where the sound of this epic chase can be heard from all angles as if you are right next to Woods and Adler in this top-secret operation.
