Luminous Productions recently postponed the release of Forspoken from May to October 2022, saying it will continue to work on polishing and optimization to deliver a product that lives up to expectations right from day one. The results of the team’s efforts will be visible in all departments, including the technical one, which according to the Technical Director, will bewitch users thanks to incredible loading times.
According to what was declared by Tappei Ono, PS5 will allow Forspoken to load scenarios in incredibly fast times, almost instantaneous, even less than a second. The fastest load times seen on PS5 for a Triple-A are those of Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut, with its two seconds per fast travel, but Forspoken will overtake it with 50% faster load times, an incredible figure that high-end PCs can only replicate. Alternatively, Ono explained that PC users would have to endure two and twenty-two seconds loading times.
Forspoken will be released on October 11 only on PS5 and PC and will be one of the biggest productions from Square Enix coming this year. The Japanese studio recently stated that it would reveal new video games coming out during the summer by the end of the fiscal year, including Final Fantasy XVI presumed.
