Scott Cawthon, creator of the Five Nights at Freddy’s series, has confirmed on Reddit that the new title, Security Breach, will not be released until the end of 2021. The game was originally slated for late 2020, but to make up for it, Cawthon released today for PC the free-scrolling fighting game Security Breach: Fury’s Rage on Game Jolt. Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is expected on PC, PS4, and PS5. New details on the game will arrive in the coming months.
Since its announcement at the State of Play in February, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach has sporadic appearances. Today the creator of the series Scott Cawthon is back to talk about the game confirming the launch window set for the end of 2021. The title is expected on PC, PS4, and PS5. In a recent post on Reddit, Cawthon said the title was originally slated for launch by the end of 2020.
As you all know, Security Breach was originally planned to come out at the end of 2020, but as we kept working on it and kept adding to it, it just kept getting bigger and bigger and needed more time to finish. And now, again, I’ve made the decision to put more time and money into it to make sure it’s finished properly, and that means a late 2021 release instead of an early 2021 release like I had originally wanted. It will be worth it!
Cawthon also announced that Security Breach: Fury’s Rage is now available for PC players to make up for the delay. It is a side-scrolling fighting game set in the Five Nights at Freddy’s universe, playable for free on Game Jolt.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach will be the first title in the series made on a larger scale than previous games. Set in Freddy Fazbear’s three-story Mega Pizza Plex, players will have more freedom of movement than before as they escape the murderous animatronics.
Unlike previous titles that Cawthon developed on his own, the Steel Wool Studios of Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted is also involved. More details will come in the coming months.
