After a very long wait and a few shy appearances – such as the short teaser a few weeks ago – the fleeting STALKER 2 of GSC Game World begins to reveal his cards.
It’s the turn of the first piece of gameplay shown in the video you find below. Very little is still shown but at least now we have an idea of the type of equipment that the protagonist Skif will be able to use (we can see a sort of scanner). Furthermore, the glimpses of the setting denote a very lively and detailed world, as one would expect from a clearly “next-gen” game. In the last seconds, we can also glimpse some of the strange paranormal manifestations that take place in the Zone, the contaminated area in which the adventure will take place.
In support of the teaser, Microsoft has provided in this article some additional details on the adventure and the setting, as well as confirmations on the use of ray-tracing in the versions for Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. The resolution of the Xbox Series X version is also confirmed at 4K.
STALKER 2 will be released on PC and Xbox Series X / S in the second half of 2021.
